POWER OF SORRY

THE POWER OF SORRY
Matthew 3:5-9.

“Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him and were baptised by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God can raise children to Abraham from these stones.

One among other things that God requires of the sinner is repentance and salvation. Repentance brings a confession of sin and leads to forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

Glory be to God if you are born again, but remember you once were an enemy of God when you were a sinner, but repentance makes you His friend. Are you free of wrongdoing or attitude?
The inability to apologise for mistakes, errors or wrongdoings makes us enemies of ourselves and God.

The word “SORRY” is five-letter words that indicate acceptance of wrongdoing. It is powerful enough to save many things, including; marriage, life, job, destiny, unity etc. Whenever you do anything wrong, always try to apologise to whoever you offend, whether God or man.

Self-righteousness or self-justification is an anchor of destruction; many wars or battles that destroyed Nations and even families would have been averted by those countries and families if only sorry were allowed the opportunity to play its role by them. We must learn to say sorry to men and God. The hands of God are not short that He can not save us from our troubles, His ears are not heavy that He could not hear us, but our inability to say sorry for our sins has separated us from Him (Isaiah 59:1). Human wrongdoing, polluted heart, and unimaginable attitudes are the reasons God distance Himself from us.

The rewards for doing the right thing and saying sorry whenever you’re wrong include; that you may not hurt yourself, that you may please Him who is your Father in heaven, and not always being condemned by your conscience. We should let our relationship with the community as Christians be of evangelism and be worthy of emulation. Our attitudes should preach Christ to people around us more than our words.

May you be enriched with the Spirit of forgiveness and the ability to apologise whenever you’re wrong. And may this day delivers to you and your household every good thing you desire in Jesus’ name.
