PRIDE IS DANGEROUS

PERIL OF PRIDE
The pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18).
Humility is having a modest or low view of one’s importance. It is the opposite of pride.
Babylon expanded and increased in power and fame during Nebuchadnezzar’s reign; he was dominant and famous, and the world considered him a god. However, he unwisely believed in his press.
“Is this not the great Babylon that I have built for a royal dwelling by my mighty power and, for the honour of my majesty?” he ascribed the glory of his power and fame to himself and nothing to God (Daniel 4:30).

In no time, Nebuchadnezzar lost his kingdom and lived like a wild beast (vv31-33). After a period of several humbling, he came to his senses: “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar praise and worship and honour the King of heaven… And those who walk in pride before God, He puts down.”
God opposes human pride wherever He finds it. It would help to expose your ego for what it is before you can be free from its hold.

God is love, but we must walk with humility before Him. When we exalt ourselves, God will humble us (James 4:6). God deserves all our love and affection, and we must never forget that He rules over us all. We don’t. Do not see yourself more than you are before God and men; it could be dangerous.
May you find favour in the sight of God and men today in Jesus’ name.

Stay blessed.
